4-1-01 and Event Information Next Time Trial – Cash Money! The next time trial is Sunday May 6. This is the fourth TT in the series and will be the last regular TT until October. Everything is the same except we will be offering $50.00 cash (maximum $200.00) for anyone that breaks one of the many posted records. Please check the web site for a full list of records. In the event that more than four records are broken, the money will be evenly split among the winners. Tandems will split a $50.00 award. Also, all of the 1st place winners names will be entered into a raffle for an additional $50.00 cash. To receive the cash, you must be present at the awards ceremony. April 1 Results - Congratulations to Dan Wulbert and William Volk for setting new island records. William Volk declared his intentions to set a new island record for partially faired recumbents at registration. He did just that with a 33:07. Dan Wulbert continues to improve. He has entered into the 60 to 65 age group this year and is setting new island records at each event. He broke his own record with a 28:42. This was the seventh fastest time of the day. Dan is certainly on course for state and national championships. Philip Coates set the fastest time with a 27:07. Philip was the second to last rider to start. So much for the theory that you have to be one of the first to start to get a good time. Or, if you subscribe to the early morning theory, consider what Philip’s time could have been. The fastest women of the day Julia Dierks with 30:22. The next fastest women was a good minute behind her. The other notables were two juniors Jared Villanueva and Tomas Vargas, ages 15 and 16 respectively. Only two seconds separated their times. Jared logged a 31:50 and Tomas a 31:52. That is an average speed of 23.42 MPH for a 15 year old. He should do well at the Junior State Championship TT September 9.
