shows perfect number placement. There is no question that rider number 217 is
Adrienne Brian.
Weather: Everyone that got to
the event early was rewarded with a beautiful sunrise. A slight breeze from the
north blew during warm-up. Luck was on the side of the competitors. When the
time trial started, there was virtually no breeze. Except for some fog in the
morning, the conditions remained perfect for the rest of the morning. The times
logged reflect the perfect conditions.
Records:
3 records were set Sunday 3/19. Shaun Wallace continues his domination of the
event by grabbing his third record. Shaun and Peter Poulson logged the fastest
time ever recorded during this series, an incredible 25:54. The old record,
25:20, was set 1/24/99 and was held by Greg Cunefare and Stan Bunn. Shaun now
holds records for the fastest male rider, the fastest male/female tandem, and
the fastest male/male tandem. Susan Cooper beet her old record in the women's 30
- 39 division by 3 seconds. She set the record a year ago. Lastly, a new record
was set for the fastest hand cycle. Congratulations to Robin Rogers for
establishing this new record.
Cash: The
cash prizes were not awarded at this event. Shaun Wallace still holds the $50 he
pledged to anyone that could beat his male single rider time. As a reminder, the
cash prizes are $100 if you beat the fastest male time, 25:12; $50 if a female
beats the fastest women's time, 29:14. A cash prize may also be established for
the hand cycle.
