Race Rules

1. Helmets are always required while on the bike.
2. Numbers go on your RIGHT side.
3. The long course is just under 3 LONG LAPS around the island.
4. Juniors 12 and under do 1 lap, ages 13-15 complete 2 laps, and ages 16-17 complete 3 laps. Youth 9 and under compete as a single group (boys and girls together). Parents are encouraged to ride with the youngest racers.
5. On the FINISHING LAP ONLY, come through the cones on the RIGHT side of the road and CALL OUT your number. On all other laps, stay to the LEFT of the cones and do not call out your number.
6. NO DRAFTING! NO DRAFTING! NO DRAFTING!
7. Use CAUTION when passing others, and allow others to pass you safely. Announce your intentions to pass.
8. NO warm-up on the course.
9. Exit the island after finishing. Do not cool down on the course.
10. This race is sanctioned by American Bicycle Racing. All ABR rules (pdf) apply.
11. Medals for top three finishers in each category and SockGuy socks for the fastest rider in each category. You have to be present to receive your award. NO mailing.
12. This is a race. You have signed a release. What happens on the island stays on the island.
